Research Associate

We work with multi-site operators to fill management roles across engineering, accounting, and hospitality. This role sits at the top of that funnel.

$20–30 / hour 15–20 hrs / week 0–2 years' experience Hell's Kitchen, hybrid

Our software augments our searches. It works the job boards, scores which roles are worth pursuing, and builds candidate lists — fast, at a scale no person could match. It also gets things wrong, and it cannot tell which is which. You can. That is the whole job, and it is a real one.

You check the work, find out what is actually true, then call the strongest candidates and see if they are interested. The ones worth meeting go on the founder's calendar.

Success in this role looks like candidate lists that arrive ready to call, and a calendar full of conversations worth having.

Why this one

—

Real work in week one. No shadowing, no busywork — you are on live roles immediately.

—

You work with the founder directly, not three layers down, and you see how the whole business runs.

—

You learn a market end to end — how it hires, what it pays, who is moving and why. Most first jobs teach you one task.

—

You run an AI system in production, not in a training module.

—

We pay you for the interview. The in-person hour is paid at your rate.

—

There is somewhere to go — full time, then Talent Consultant, Head of Research, or Product.

Location and environment

New York City preferred, hybrid — we are in Hell's Kitchen. Your first two days are in person, and we sit down at 30 days to see how it is going, both ways.

The culture is direct and generous: we tell you what we think early and specifically, and you will be trusted with real work from the first week.

We believe diverse teams make better decisions. We're committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills — and we encourage applications from all walks of life.

Studies suggest that qualified candidates may self-select out if they don't meet all job requirements. We encourage individuals who believe they have the skills necessary to thrive to apply.

To apply

No cover letter.

You get a 20-minute exercise: a one-page account brief our system produced, some of it wrong. Tell us what you would fix before we sent it to a client. The link appears the moment you apply, and it is tied to the email address you give us below — so use the one you actually check.

That assessment, a 15-minute video call, and one hour in person that we pay you for. That is the whole process — and we move quickly.
